Nov 25, 2018 | Health

There are a number of top strategies that you can use to manage stress in the workplace. These can help to prevent long term health effects and problems that can come as a result of working too long:

Take breaks: Taking short breaks throughout the day even to quickly get up and stretch can be an ideal way that you can feel more energized through the day. Taking even just a few minutes to look away from your screen can help your eyes feel more refreshed and help you to refocus your thoughts.

Examine your productivity: You may be inadvertently wasting a lot of extra time at work. By using a task timer or some kind of web monitoring device it could be possible to see where your inefficiencies may be. Checking out where you could be wasting time is essential as it could help you accomplish work faster and experience less stress.

Make your workspace comfortable: If you need a new chair make sure you request one quickly. Make sure you are in a workspace with lots of light and that is ergonomically sound. If you are starting to experience aches and pains in your workplace it can amplify your stress.

Make sure to take your holidays: Getting burnt out can simply happen in any industry. By taking the time to regularly take holidays and get away from work you can achieve a better work/ life balance.

Learn to delegate: Many entrepreneurs try to take on too much at once. If you are in a management position or an owners position you have got to remember to delegate. It only takes a few years of working 70+ hour weeks to start draining you.

Keep some of these top ideas in mind if you are looking for strategies on how to reduce stress in the workplace.
